Canaccord Genuity appoints branch manager to drive Ottawa growth and expand advisor network
Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has appointed Matthew Doelman as branch manager of its Ottawa office.
Doelman, who joined Canaccord in 2014, has more than a decade of experience with the firm. He is originally from Ottawa and is returning to the city with his wife Kirsten and their three children.
Ottawa is described by the firm as a strategically important market, given its diverse mix of professionals with complex wealth management needs.
Doelman’s role will focus on expanding the advisor base and developing new client relationships in the capital.
Matt Cicci, head of Private Group, Canada, said Doelman’s appointment “reflects our ongoing investment in expanding our presence in Ottawa.” He added that Doelman’s knowledge of the Ottawa market and his track record made him well suited for the role.
Doelman said, “Having been raised in Ottawa, it’s incredibly meaningful to return with my family and rejoin a community that’s always felt like home.”
He noted his long experience in wealth management and his familiarity with Canaccord Genuity’s platform.
He added that in his new role, he will focus on expansion, attracting advisors, and building client relationships in Ottawa.
